“Yes I am willing to work with Council, District of North Saanich staff and ‘People for a Pedestrian-Friendly Dean Park’ to come up with solutions to the problems raised.

 I agree that political leaders have a responsibility to help make neighbourhoods pedestrian-friendly.

 I also support enhancing and connecting trails and bike paths.

 I support sidewalks, narrowing roads, speed bumps, crosswalks and adding centre islands with trees and plants to help calm dangerous traffic speeds.

 ICBC has help fund such projects in dangerous areas such as near Quadra/Hillside a number of years ago.

 On West Saanich Road near the Royal Oak shopping centre, centre island initiatives for speed reduction have also been successful.”
